LETTER OF THE WEEK
I REMEMBER fondly the battles on terrestrial television, featuring legendary fighters such as Mike Tyson, Barry McGuigan, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank and Michael Watson, to name but a few. They were inspirational warriors who helped form my love for the sport, which still remains today. Subsequently, it saddens me to see pay-per-view events being staged that are only accessible to people who have the money to pay for them. How can today’s champions leave a legacy that resonates for generations when millions of people will never see them fight? Champions of the past may not be as financially wealthy as champions of the present and future, but their legacies will certainly be richer.
