Bellochantuy SWI’s latest meeting was jam-packed with Christmas cheer.
Guest speaker for the event on Monday November 19, was well known Campbeltonian Pat McPherson, of Kintyre Preserves. Mrs McPherson retired from teaching French at Campbeltown Grammar School, only to find a second career making jams, chutneys and marmalades.
Her story began with her granny’s recipe book and, after her own experimentation, ended in success, particularly winning a silver award at the World’s Original Marmalade Awards and Festival, held at Dalemain Mansion near Penrith, Cumbria, in 2012. Mrs McPherson later judged the SWI competitions which continued the Christmas theme.
