A dry, crisp and windy day ensured a close game at Dunaverty’s Christmas competition.
One stroke separated first and second. Eight handicapper David Hanley was in fine form covering the front nine in 37 strokes, despite having five bogeys in the process, but upped his game on the back nine by recording 35.
Sandy Watson proved that age is no barrier by producing an excellent scratch score of 74 and pipped David by one stroke, on handicap, to secure the win.
