Berkshire’s famous big fish venue, Wellington Country Park, produced a brace of forties in the form of a 49lb mirror and 47lb common to Carl Udry. Paul Strickland banked the only UK fifty of the week with a 50lb 7oz mirror from Darenth Big Lake in Kent. Only just missing out on the 50lb barrier was James Butcher, who banked a 49lb 10oz mirror from Horton Church Lake. DNA Baits’ Perry Alabaster ventured down to Elphicks again this week and banked a 49½lb mirror from Pullens Lake. We also have four Most Wanted fish in this issue topped by Manor Farm’s Kempy’s Linear at 48lb 7oz landed by Ferenc Szakaly.
Top international carper Steve Briggs recounts a visit to a virgin carp water in Gran Canaria, rumoured to hold some monster carp! Dave Smedley returns with the second part of his feature where he recalls a very special season he enjoyed last year. Dynamite Baits’ Dan Cleary discusses the benefits of mixing your baits up while Mikey Farrall reflects on some cold water success that he enjoyed on Earls View Fishery in Shropshire.
We have over £250 worth of Mainline Baits Essential Cell goodies to give away, plus the monthly Nash Tackle winners are revealed.
