It’s hard to believe, but winter is over and the first heat of this year’s Car of the Year competition has been and gone already! Having said that, Wheels Day takes place on Good Friday, which is a bit of a movable feast since Easter never falls on the same date from year to year. This year it was March, next year (2017) it falls in April…
One can’t help feeling sorry for show organisers these days who have to contend with ever-increasing health and safety zealots and the spectre of litigious showgoers and members of the public. It’s amazing that any car shows get organised at all; I was recently looking through a file of paperwork relating to our stand at the NEC Classic Motor Show 20 years ago and comparing it to the small telephone directory of paperwork that today’s event entails – it really speaks volumes about the world we live in today!
