I agree with Martin Buckley (Backfire, February) that, at £36, the Classic Motor Show at the NEC is not a cheap dayʼs entertainment, especially when you add in the extortionate parking charge.
This compares poorly with my membership at Shelsley Walsh hillclimb, where the annual fee (for two) is only £110, which gives entry to events throughout spring, summer and early autumn, as well as free parking, paddock access, plus a membersʼ grandstand and a marquee halfway up the hill, plus a well-written magazine.
