he average shotgun certificate holder in the UK owns three guns, but I would suggest you only really need one. Broadly speaking, your choice is between side-by-sides, overand-unders, pumps and infernal contraptions also known as semi-automatics. I suggest you go for an over-and-under, and whether you spend £500 or £15,000 it will do pretty much the same job because at the end of the day a shotgun is a fairly blunt instrument. A good analogy would be buying a watch: a Timex or a Rolex will tell you the time, but with the latter you are just being a little bit too flash.
