Now is a fantastic time to build a new PC. For starters, the furore of last summer’s Intel Sky lake launch has died down, so CPUs and motherboards are more reasonably priced than a year ago. Perhaps more importantly, though, mid-range GPUs are currently battling, with Nvidia launching the GeForce GTX 1060 and AMD releasing the Radeon RX480. At the moment, the Nvidia card just edges out the RX480, which costs around £20-30 less. However,prices are hovering between £200 and £250 for the cheaper models for both GPUs, so they’re both great options for a sub-£1,000 PC. There are more great PC cases around than ever, plus SSDs are getting cheaper.
