In the December issue of Cycling Plus, our bike grouptest sees us searching for value and versatility – four bikes at around the £1000 bike mark that will get you to work and set you up for weekend adventures. We’d stop short of calling them gravel bikes, but with chunkier tyres than your average road bike, these are bikes that can handle our rough roads and bridleways with ease.

Our second groupset resides in a very different area of the bike-buying market as we pit two super-e-road bikes against one another. Okay, one of these bikes might actually be super-duper, rather than merely super, as the test tries to answer the question – do you double the performance when you double your money? In one corner, we have the Cannondale SuperSix Evo Neo 2 (£4999.99) and in the other, Specialized’s S-Works Turbo Creo SL (£10,999.99).

In New Bikes, we’ve got tests of the Cervelo Caledonia 5 Ultegra Di2 and the Vitus Vitesse EVO, and in our Upgrade section we test out Bontrager’s Starvos WaveCel helmet and the Parcours Strade wheels.

In Features, we guide you through the ultimate core strengthening workout with the help of physiotherapist Bianca Broadbent, peer inside technical editor Warren Rossiter’s garage to discover the products that have survived long beyond the testing process and head to the Scottish Highlands in the final of our three-part series on multi-day bikepacking adventures.
