Dancing Times  |  April 2014
The April issue of Dancing Times reveals some interesting viewpoints. In our main interview on page 13, Tamara Rojo, artistic director of English National Ballet, talks to Zoë Anderson about her vision for the company in the run-up to its new programme, Lest We Forget, at the Barbican Theatre this month. Dominic Antonucci, ballet master with Birmingham Royal Ballet, poses some questions about the use of mirrors in the daily life of a dancer on page 35, and on page 29 choreographer and director Boris Eifman discusses his life and career with Margaret Willis on the eve of The Eifman Ballet’s visit to the London Coliseum.
Also in this issue, on page 81, Margaret interviews The Royal Ballet’s Francesca Hayward as our Dancer of the Month – a young ballerina who has recently been making her mark on the stage of the Royal Opera House. Paul Arrowsmith looks at the pleasures and pitfalls of reconstructing some long-lost ballets on page 19; and in Talking Point, dance and film critic Neil Norman wonders where are all the ballet movies? As usual, we include a full range of news and reviews, plus our regular columns from New York and St Petersburg written by Jack Anderson and Igor Stupnikov. Happy reading!
