Masturbation is a popular activity with a range of benefits. A flow state is the mental state in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of animated focus, total involvement and enjoyment in the process. Flow is defined by absorption, and a resulting loss in sense of time and space.

Flow can be hard to reach, probably because our brains are too busy thinking about other things or being too self-conscious to let our minds run to their wildest places. Embarrassment, shame, or fear of failure can also hinder our access to flow. Whatever the underlying reasons, masturtation can give you a fast-pass ticket into flow.
When you reach orgasm during masturtation, especially if you do so slowly, some surprising thoughts, ideas and/or images will present themselves.
