THE POP STAR OPENS UP ABOUT THE DARKER SIDE OF FAME AND HOW SHE OVERCAME HER DEMONS
INTERVIEW CARRIE LYELL, WORDS ROXY BOURDILLON
Pip Brown, better known as Ladyhawke, finds having a stage name helps her performance. “I’ve always really liked having almost a split personality. I’ve got the excuse to get up onstage and perform.” There’s a downside to such a distinctive alter ego, though. “No-one knows what Pip’s like. I’m really cool, I swear!” From her refreshing honesty and friendly demeanour, that’s clearly true.
The singer-songwriter burst onto the music scene back in 2008 with her self-titled debut. Catchy singles like My Delirium and Paris Is Burning ensured its success. Her second album, Anxiety, came out in 2012. Since then, Ladyhawke fans have been eagerly awaiting her next release. Thankfully, they won’t have to wait much longer. Ladyhawke’s third offering, Wild Things, goes on sale this month.
