BEN PLATT – REVERIE If Ben Platt was hot in 2020 when he starred in Ryan Murphy’s The Politician, he’s sizzling in 2021. Besides headlining the movie version of the Dear Evan Hansen musical, he’s found a few spare moments to complete his second solo album. Electropop first single Imagine has already been well-received, especially on dancefloors with Tiësto adding a throbbing club remix, while second single Happy To Be Sad joins the grand list of great melancholy pop songs. With a Grammy, Tony and Emmy already to his name, it’s likely Ben will soon add an Oscar (perhaps for Dear Evan Hansen?) making him the first openly gay EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) winner. Until then, settle in with Reverie, best described as Michael Bublé waking up one morning, realising he prefers guys and wants to hang out with gal pals Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga on the pop charts.
