There’s one slippery character that I’m having trouble nailing down. My 3x greatgrandfather was known in my family as Aaron Marine, and we were told that he was born in Cadiz, Spain. I’ve heard two versions about him. Growing up I was told by my mother that he was a Spanish interpretator for the courts, but later on my grandad said that he was an onion seller, and the only time he was in court was for selling his onions illegally!
