TRACK ATTACK!
Never been on track before? Perhaps it’s time to pop that track cherry!
GO TOURING
Regular track day’ers would probably be surprised to learn the majority of bikers have never had the pleasure of circuit riding. If you happen to be one of those, read on!
It’s true, the vast majority of bikers in the UK have never been on track. Yes there’s a very healthy track day scene in Blighty, and many of those who partake do days abroad, too. But the number of those who have never tried it is far greater than those that have. So find here the best way to get on track, or learn new skills, or find a favourite track day company to take care of you!
Ron Haslam Race School
We think that the Ron Haslam school is by far the very best way to get your first ever experience on track – for all ages, not just us grown-ups. Rocket Ron takes care of kids from 12 years old as well as adults, so he does, even for those who have never even ridden a bike before, ever! It’s a one-stop track shop! But the track part is the key here, and the ‘Premier Experience’ is the one for track novices. You get to learn all about going on track, what flags mean, track courtesy, the lot. Then when you’re au fait with it all and have gotten used to whizzing round on a Honda CBR600RR, you can start to learn via the excellent coaching staff. As track introductions go, it’s perfect and highly recommended. Then if you’re feeling fruity, you can opt to have a crack at the ‘Elite’ package, which comes with a brand new Honda Fireblade and one-to-one tuition. The school provides riding kit if you don’t have any, or don’t fancy risking your own.
