After playing for over 40 clubs across a 26-year football career, it’d be easy to assume that there aren’t too many new experiences left for Jefferson Louis. But after the 43-year-old frontman hit a stoppage-time double which sent North Leigh up from the Southern League Division One Central playoffs in May, it turns out he’s still very much keeping things fresh.
Louis’ brilliant brace – rounding off a late comeback from 2-0 down to win 4-2 in the final against Ware – helped the Oxfordshire outfit reach the seventh tier for the first time in their history. The striker says it vindicates his decision to keep playing.
