DALEY’S DOZEN
Eggs are the kitchen’s unsung heroes: affordable, versatile and easy to use. Here, Olympic diver – and cookbook author – Tom Daley shares some cracking recipes
Gold medal-winning Olympian Tom Daley knows only too well the importance of healthy eating – and living – to ensure your body performs at its best.
And as dad to young son Robbie, who was born in June 2018, Tom and his husband Dustin Lance Black now have to juggle the school run with all of life’s other everyday demands, as well as maintaining wellbeing.
Recent research by British Lion eggs found that 41% of Brits are struggling to find affordable, healthy meals due to the cost of living crisis. A long-standing ambassador for British Lion eggs, Tom has collaborated with the brand to create some nutritious, familyfriendly recipes that are big on flavour and small on cost, for cooks short on time.
Here, Tom talks exclusively to hello! about cooking as a family, his secret to staying healthy and more…
Tom, as a parent, how important it is to you to be able to pass on skills and family recipes to the next generation and to cook together at home? “Cooking is such a fun bonding activity for parents to do with children and a great opportunity to pass on all the good things you know about healthy eating. There’s so much you can do with eggs, for instance, which is why they’re always in my fridge. They’re a real kitchen staple, plus costeffective, nutritious and quick to cook.”
