As Iwrite these words the autumn and winter months are approaching, and I must confess that these are my favourite seasons of the year. Being of Mediterranean birth, my wife Yannie likes things hot at night, well I guess that’s why she married me, eh readers? Pause for drum roll. But I sleep way better when baby it’s cold outside. I’ll be checking my FitBit stats and I reckon I’ll be earning cyberbadges galore as my kip ratio goes through the roof.
Autumn and winter were also always my favourite times of the year when I was young enough to still believe that Santa came only once a year and Mrs Claus never complained. Christmas Day was just the best day of the year because my brother Sandy and my sisters Viv and Gillian managed to live in perfect harmony for 24 hours - aside from when I shot Gill in the face with 24 ping-pong balls in a scientific testing of a new weapon system. The test was a success, but I got a right leathering rather than a Nobel prize.
