“Id been out of work for a very very long time,” says veteran actor Julian Glover, “And my wife and I were in a bit of despair. We were just on the edge of selling the car and selling the house and thinking about how we’re going to sur vive.”
“And suddenly I was asked to a do an American film starring Anthony Hopkins. We were just about to go out to Greece to make that when there was a Screen Actors Guild strike in America and the whole thing was called off.” His fortunes only slightly changed when he was offered a part in mini-series The Search for Alexander the Great (1981), which was also filming in Greece.
