Dear iScot,

I’ve just switched off my computer after reading for the umpteenth time on social media that the unionist MSM and BBC are accused of being complicit in some fake news issue that sets out to undermine the Scottish Government or the independence movement.

With wearisome monotony the ‘look what they are up to now’ posts are a daily occurrence and whilst I can empathise with the concern of the commentators, it doesn’t really achieve anything constructive other than promote the very media that the indy movement have major issues with. BBC Scotland’s news reporting is aligned to its charter remit - to promote the cohesion of the United Kingdom. They are not there to give a platform to or promote any organisation that is a threat to the UK, and accordingly it is what it is - the UK State broadcaster.
