IN a remake of last season’s championship final, Carcassonne once again outplayed rivals Limoux to claim a comprehensive 19-0 victory to go clear at the top of the table. After Sydney Roosters head coach and France’s World Cup director of rugby Trent Robinson took the honorary kick-off, visitors Carcassonne had the better of the first half.
However, winger Georgy Gambaro’s early breakaway try over 80 metres looked like being the only score until, on the last play, Morgan Escaré put centre Vincent Albert over for a 10-0 lead.
