A pple supplier TSMC – the company responsible for manufacturing most of Apple’s custom chips used in its iPhones, Macs, and more – is raising its prices. That could have a knock-on effect on the cost of Apple devices like the iPhone 13.
In a warning to its clients, TSMC announced it would raise prices by 10% on chips made using 7-nanometer processes and lower, and by 20% on chips created with 16-nanometer processes and higher. The change will take effect in January 2022.
