For those of us who are forever dropping or scratching our iPhones, help could soon be at hand. A patent application submitted by Apple in January, but which has only just come to light, suggests Cupertino may have found a solution - in the form of a self-healing display.
Future iPhones may one day have self-healing screens - if a patent application submitted by Apple is anything to go by.
The patent application - Electronic Devices With Flexible Display Cover Layers - appears to be attempting to solve a problem common to foldable phones like the Samsung Galaxy Fold, where dirt and other detritus can cause damage to the display. Not only does this add more weight to the rumour that Apple is working on a foldable phone, but that a solution to those display snafus could be coming.
