Andrzej Bargiel trains in La Garve, a ski resort in the French Alps, in 2018. Later that year, the Polish ski mountaineer redefined his sport by doing the ‘impossible’: completing the first solo descent of K2, the second highest - and second deadliest - mountain on Earth. It’s estimated that only 300 people have attempted to climb the mountain (let alone ski down it), which has a stark fatality rate of 29 per cent. 1
