EARLIER IN THE YEAR I DROVE THE new BMW i4 M50, the first BMW to marry what some might regard as the competing interests of its ‘i’ and ‘M’ brands.
It didn’t work. Weighing more than a Bentley Continental GT, it was unable to live up to the promise of its billing. But there is a less ambitious i4 on sale and I signed off my test saying, “I’ve not driven it, but I’d bet my house it makes more sense than this.”
