GP TRAINEES are being offered a £20,000 ‘golden handshake’ to work in Scotland’s remote and rural areas.
The Scottish Government’s latest recruitment campaign advertised 100 new GP training places in Scotland, and a proportion came with a £20,000 incentive for trainees who choose to take up posts in ‘hard to fill locations’.
These 100 new places bring the total number of GP specialist training posts advertised this year to 439, following a recruitment drive earlier in the year.
