THERE was heated comment after a sign was erected at Stafford Street saying: ‘No cycling, ball games, skateboarding, scooter riding.’ Gregor Mcluckie wrote: ‘Yes let’s put these up all over Oban, why not ????? Tell me where the kids of Oban can go to do these things. The town is a joke nowhere for kids to go so they have to stay in or get themselves into trouble and moved on for loitering in groups around the town. No park, skate park or any form of public place for them to go.’
Saskia Cheney suggested: ‘Money would be better spent going towards providing an alternative. Everyone is all for kids having an active lifestyle yet the kids who aren’t sat inside on their Play Stations have nowhere to actually be active?!? The council needs to sort their priorities!’
Maddy Johnstone urged: ‘Build a skatepark council and kids would have somewhere to go, there isn’t much for kids in oban ‚so skatepark or something they’d love to have.’
