A HOSPITAL ward was forced to close and visitors asked to stay away to stop the spread of a bug.
Six patients in Raigmore’s Ward 2A were affected with sickness and diarrhoea and it was closed to new admissions on December 1. Two of those patients in the Inverness hospital tested positive for norovirus.
Dr Chin Lim said: ‘By restricting visiting to the affected area it helps hospital staff protect the health, privacy and dignity of our patients. We would also ask that people do not come to the hospital to visit if they have, or live with someone who has had any vomiting or diarrhoea within the previous 48 hours.
