Tell us a bit about your swim background.
Swimming has shaped the way I move and breathe into life. Ever since I was a lil’ being, I was always content and my most joyful swirling among the fishes under the sea and being near natural bodies of water. I used to swim competitively, mainly in indoor swimming pools and a few short ocean heats here and there. I unexpectedly lost my hearing in my early teens and was warned that swimming may worsen my hearing, so I limited swimming in my life for quite some time.
After a challenging relationship break up in 2019, I decided to move out of London to start on my own business in the wild and quietness of south Devon. Spending my free time in my local natural nooks offered me solace, deep listening moments, restoration and a cleansing ritual that rested and rejuvenated my mind and body. For a while, I walked and wildly swam alone or with close family and the occasional doggo or two. After some time, I yearned to share this lush yummy swimmery feeling. So, I joined my first Bluetit swim in Plymouth at Firestone Bay in late summer 2019… and that was it! I felt so welcome, seen and connected while swimming alongside other people. I am so utterly grateful to have made some of my closest friends while sharing my love of swimming and being in the outdoor, zingy freshness. I swim all year round, I enjoy the change of energy within the elements as the seasons shift and change, there is something so nourishing and unifying when you begin to align with these.
