Honkai:StarRail’s depth is elastic: you can treat it like a standard turn-based RPG with a surprisingly funny sci-fi story or put in the time to learn how to bend its combat into a straight up action game. It even pulls off a roguelike mode with DiscoElysium-style conversations. Few games, especially free-to-play ones, feel as refreshingly modern, confident, and extremely, hilariously online as HSR.
