Sometimes less is more and German tuner, Dominic Timmermeister, is proof of this. Well, it’s actually his sleeper Mk2 – this month’s cover star – which we’re using as reference. Other than the ride height reduction and BBS centre-lock wheels, there’s nothing to hint at the 2.0-litre 16v on throttle bodies that lurks under the hood.
Of course, there will always be those that like to stand out at every opportunity no matter what their age and thankfully this issue features a pretty even mix of both approaches. Whatever method you prefer there’s something inside for everybody.
