Light and your loot, all of it lost, your Guardian consumed by the flames of the Red War. For Bungie this was the only clear way to close out a turbulent
chapter in the studio’s history; leaving it free to turn a page and begin one anew without the weight of past indiscretions hanging around its neck like an albatross. As game director Luke Smith is quick to tell anybody that is willing to
listen: “Destiny 2 is going to be a new beginning, for everyone.”
