Since this magazine began almost five years ago, we have strived to build positive and mindful leadership capacities to enable leaders to better navigate VUCA times. During the current Covid-19 crisis, the VUCA world is alive! We are seeing unprecedented market volatility, high levels of uncertainty paired with complex and ambiguous decisions that we need to take. From our own work, we have seen how impactful positive and mindful leadership skills can be, so please keep reading and visit our previous issues for more.

This issue, although being published during lockdown, has been in progress since the beginning of the year. It therefore contains some articles that do not reference the latest global developments.
My colleague Declan Noone and I met with Frederick Chavalit Tsao, Chairman of IMC Pan Asia Alliance Group and founder of Octave and co-author of the book Quantum Leadership, to talk about his mindful-based approach to leadership and how he runs a multi-billion-dollar corporation.

We also explore the results of a recent study by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Awaris, which demonstrated that mindfulness helps to foster an organisation’s collective intelligence.

In our NextGen Leader series, we talk to Mohannad Hajaj, Innovation Labs Coordinator at UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Work Agency, Lebanon.

Finally, this spring issue of the Positive & Mindful Leader Magazine concludes with Serrano 99 Insights on how to lead through the current crisis.
