Anyone who uses their caravan on a regular basis has a scratch list of bolt-holes: default locations where a pleasant weekend can be all but guaranteed, efforts needed are low and the welcome will be friendly. I have several such places myself, but I needed to find a new one. Partner Jen’s folks wanted to see how far caravanning had moved on in the thirty or so years since they had last set foot in one. That meant abandoning our regular haunts dotted across Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire in favour of something that we could get to without wasting hours of their weekend sitting in the car.
