TEESSIDE FREEPORT
Security alert
WHEN the
Eye
pointed out that the man signing as managing director of the security company across the UK’s flagship freeport on Teesside was still serving a long prison sentence on licence for conspiracy to supply industrial quantities of cocaine, the company involved insisted he wasn’t actually running the company.
The drug dealer was David Garside Jr and the company, NE Security, was set up by his ex-boxer father, David Garside Sr, in the 1990s. The latter, insisted NE Security, was still the boss (the former just, ahem, a health and safety adviser). But a new legal development suggests this isn’t too reassuring, either.
