Klone have always excelled at blending thunderous sounds and thoughtful sentiments, as showcased on their most recent albums, 2015’s Here Comes the Sun and 2019’s Le Grand Voyage.
Those two records provide the bulk of the material on their first live collection. Alive mirrors the beginning of the latter album, kicking off with Yonder, whose emotional vocals and temperamental arrangements blend the grunginess of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden with the evocative atmospheres of Anathema and The Pineapple Thief. That synthesis is maintained on Breach, Immersion, Grim Dance and Sealed, while The Drifter and The Last Experience lean more drastically toward spacey softness and djent heaviness respectively.
