Capture of the Conservatives?
Steve Bloomfield is right to raise the spectre of the far-right capturing the Tory Party, which has proved almost as unresistant to entryism as the Labour Party (“A populist in Number 10?” June). Bloomfield is also right to suggest that Boris Johnson may be the most likely Conservative leadership candidate to ride this wave to Downing Street. He speaks the language of “the people,” and has the charisma and notably the ambition to do so.
