When living Ayurvedically, we become intimately acquainted with cause and effect. We realise that anything that forms part of our daily experience, from the weather to the food we eat, has an impact on body, mind and spirit. This month, we aim to wake up well. In Ayurveda, we believe there is a special energy in the air just before sunrise. Wake up 10 minutes before dawn, wrap up, and step into nature. Sit silently, witnessing the sun’s ascent. Regardless of how many times we witness it, it continues to inspire awe and is mindfulness in simplest action. Then we may move or meditate: a round of sun salutations, or 10 minutes of meditation, are a gentle invitation to begin our day well.
