SINCE THEIR FIRST SHORT STORY appeared in Pr Fire in 1986, Vancouver writer Hamilton has published at least 60 short works of fiction, not to mention poetry and essays, in esteemed publications like Exile , Gr , The Review, and The New - terly. But Hamilton is reluctant to give the country’s literary journals much credit for advancing their writing career or helping them clinch deals for their nine books – including the novel Weekend, several poetry books, and two short-story collections – with Arsenal Pulp Press and Douglas & McIntyre among others.
