RC Jet International  |  October-November 2012
For those who love to read about scratch-built models, then the final part of the Arado 555-1 ‘Amerika Bomber’ build will doubtless impress. This six-engined leviathan by former RCJI editor, John Wright, finally takes to the air. Continuing the complex build theme we join Canada’s Greame Mears, as he tells us how he built the TopGun ’12 Team Trophy winning T-33 Thunderbird from the Scale-Jets kit (part 2).
Roger McCormick continues to make progress with his scratch-built A-10, with the second instalment of this large model – intended to be powered by a twin EDF set-up.
We have R/C Jet show coverage from both Canada and the USA, visiting ‘Capitol Jets’ in NY state, and Ontario’s ‘Wingham Jets International’. Back in Europe, Dave Wilshere takes part in and reports on the ‘Jet Formation Masters’ held in Germany.
Other reviews include the new Flying Legends Hawker Hunter and Jet Legends CT-114 Tutor.
A possible introduction to Jets for the newcomer could be the new all foam ‘Ready2Fly’ Venom? Dave Wilshere gives his view on this ready to go model. We even take a look at the new AS3X gyro equipped MiG-15 from E-flite, perfect for those smaller flying sites.
