RAIL PHOTOGRAPHY IS ALIVE AND WELL
The overall winning shot is featured on our front cover (and repeated on page 35), but the winner’s portfolio also included this shot of Glenfinnan Viaduct in Scotland as ‘Black Five’ No. 45212 heads to Mallaig with a ‘Jacobite’ working. Rather than the more usual shot showing the curve of the viaduct, this side-on composition shows the view up the valley instead.
