I think part of it is just because I like to put myself in the shoes of the game designer when I play them. One of my favourite quotes is from the veteran Magic: The Gathering head designer Mark Rosewater, “Restrictions breed creativity.” I wonder how I would tackle the task of creating interesting and varied challenges within the limitations of a single screen?
