Aragonite (CaCO3) is a polymorph with calcite. It has the same chemical composition but exhibits different physical properties. Its crystal form is orthorhombic. It can produce unusual patterns such as this pseudo-hexagonal aggregate. It is named after the Aragon region in Spain where it was first found.
