Bow seat for the Gorge Narrows Rowing Club reaches forward with her left scull to pinch the boat around and under the Craigflower bridge turn during the Tail of the Gorge head race in Victoria, British Columbia Canada.
The bow seat’s left hand brings back memories for me of nailing a turn and giving my crew a boost of energy knowing, as they would know also, that I had saved them from expending unnecessary energy. The dark side of me also remembers watching the crew behind working extremely hard - in the wrong direction - in an effort to catch up.
