The best event comics from Marvel usually have a clear, easily grasped narrative hook, whether it’s the inter-hero conflict of Civil War, or the paranoid intrigue of Secret Invasion. So it’s strange that the latest event, Heroes Reborn, features the muddy central hook of “Hey, what if history was rewritten and the Avengers were replaced by characters that you’ve barely heard of?”
