In 1998, trapped unwillingly by a promise to a friend to watch Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, I put on the tape (hush, younglings) of the first episode of the fourth season (“The Way Of The Warrior”).
About 10 minutes later, my attention was grabbed by a Cardassian character, firing off witticisms, taunting Klingons until they thumped him and claiming victory in the face of broken bones because of the cutting remarks he got past them.
