biggest slot car meets in the world. Plenty to see
and buy, but surprisingly not much sunshine!

I love Capris and have had a few real ones over
the years. Here I eventually take the two 1/24th
scale BRM offerings, that I picked up at Gaydon,
out of their boxes.

38 TOURING CARS
Scalextric have recently released a bunch of classic
touring cars, all driven by champions. We look at the
cars that raced in the 50’s and 80’s.
40 DATSUN 510
In the early 1970’s when the Pony Cars of the Trans-
Am series were considered gas-guzzlers, the SCCA
had a class for under 2.5 litre cars to attract smaller
cars to race. Trouble was that one car dominated the
series – Here is the Slot.it version of the Datsun 510.

As swap meets go, Orpington is one of my favourites.
Not as big as some but it’s not too far from where I
live, and I always seem to come back with something
I really wanted. This one was especially good!
