At the time, this was considered a radical idea, threatening to only appeal to those from the region. To the delight of those responsible for turning the idea into a reality - Southern Living magazine surpassed expectations. Against all odds, the magazine established itself as one of the most profitable publications in the US within a decade of its release. Supplying readers with the insight into Southern food, homes and gardens - the magazine proved to be a source of endless inspiration.

Today, Southern Living magazine continues to embrace and celebrate a way of life that has influenced so many since its conception. World famous recipes have changed through the decades, and the region itself has progressed into a more diverse environment benefitting from a fusion of cultures and backgrounds.
