Green, the festive issue of Sporting Gun celebrates the spirit of the
season and the deep connection between shooting, the countryside and
rural communities.

Reflecting on a lifetime in the field, Sam
writes with warmth and gratitude about the traditions that bind the
shooting world together: “I can’t imagine a time when I couldn’t simply grab my gun and head out – whether to a high seat, a day on the pigeons or to a splash for a few ducks for the pot. The countryside is where my heart lies and everything in it is worth protecting.”
His words capture why this time of year remains so special to all who
love the outdoors and the sport that defines it.
