Stationary Engine Magazine No.476 Lister LD1 Edición anterior

23 Reseñas   •  English   •   Trade & Professional (Construction)
Only €4,99
The in-depth series of articles covering the restoration of an Amanco Hired Man engine came to an end recently with the engine becoming the prize in a “Win an Amanco” competition. I am pleased
to say that the number of entries received from you the readers surpassed all expectations. The
draw has now taken place; more on this and the lucky winner’s name can be found on page 19.
Engine Resource Centre Amendment Frank Gelder has informed me that the phone number in his Engine Resource Centre entry is incorrect (a digit missing) it should be 01430 430374 or Mobile 07961366203. He also now has an email address frank@frankstanks.co.uk Ruston Archives
Alex Thomas has emailed the following “Dear Sir, in the May edition of the IET Journal (Engineering and Technology. www.EandTmagazine.com ) I noticed an article referring to the transfer of the Ruston (now Siemens) company’s archives to an organisation called Lincolnshire Archives. Apparently the archive goes back to the foundation of the company in 1857. Lincolnshire Archives are looking for volunteers with knowledge of the company to help them collate what is apparently a vast archive, and the request has gone out for anyone who is prepared to assist to contact Dr
Mike Rogers on 01522 552029 or via email at mike.rogers@lincolnshire.gov.uk. Perhaps there are readers of Stationary Engine magazine who may be able to help in what looks to be an enormous but rewarding task.” Forward planning It was brought to my notice that Stationary Engine magazine will be entering its 40th year in early 2014, and no doubt there will be a little something to mark the occasion however, at the moment I am uncertain what form this will take, so watch this space.
